Passionate thoughts about the world of writing and the Power of God

Let's do some characters and authors:

Do you know who these thriller characters are: Mitch Rapp, Scot Harvath, John Milton, Jon Reznick, Cole "Toxic" Russell?

Do you know who these tough ladies are: Raleigh Harmon, Rachel Hatch, "Ham", Bree Taggert, Adele Sharp?

What are your favorite genres?

Do you prefer full-length novels, sagas, novellas, short stories, or non-fiction?

Do you prefer stand-alone novels or series fiction?

Father, thank you for your writers/authors. Thank you for stories and characters. Please help me to be the one you designed me to be. Apart from you, I can do nothing. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

I know Mitch Rapp & Cole “Toxic” Russell. The others are familiar, but I haven’t read their books.
    I know Raleigh Harmon.
What are your favorite genres? Family drama, women’s fiction. I like romantic suspense by a male author. Women get too sappy. 😀
Do you prefer full-length novels, sagas, novellas, short stories, or non-fiction? Full-lengh novels. Sagas if the characters are well defined.
Do you prefer stand-alone novels or series fiction? Hmmm, I like both. For series fiction, the characters have to be engaging, and they need to have an arc.
I pretty much know your answers, Nicole, but still, tell us your answers.

Hahaha! I’m sure you do know my answers, Bren.
Okay, these heroes, although all different, are in the Rapp flavor. “Tox” was an incredible hero in Ronie’s speculative novels, and I loved him. Harvath, Milton, and Reznick are all in states of flux with their careers, strong characters – each one different. We all know Rapp set the bar way too high – for me, it’ll probably never be reached by anyone else.
We love Raleigh. The two after her (Hatch and Ham) are bad-a&% women. Of the two, Hatch is the more sensitive. Ham basically is just plain tough – after all, her weapon of choice is a throwing axe. Bree’s interesting, can be tough. Adele Sharp is intelligent, determined, and tries to be by the book – but like a dog with a bone on a case.
Genres: thrillers, mystery, suspense. I love romance but so much of it is not real romance to me – you know my favorite authors in that genre – which is probably why I write it.
Definitely full-length novels and sagas – if done right.
Both – I love stand-alones, and I prefer the one-character series (i.e. Mitch Rapp, Raleigh Harmon, etc.).
