Into the Fire

Passionate thoughts about the world of writing and the Power of God

Well, hey, why not? “I’m not ashamed of the gospel, because it the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: ‘The righteous will live by faith.’” (Paul speaking in Romans 1:16-17)

As Christians we are Christ’s ambassadors (2Corinthians 5:20), His witnesses (Acts 1:8), and His workmanship (Ephesians 2:10). I’m game if someone out there isn’t afraid of hearing the message of Truth and representing someone who professes to include that truth between the pages of fiction. I welcome expressing the love of Jesus to someone who hasn’t slammed a door on God, who isn’t filled with the corrupting thought processes and principles of this world (Colossians 2:8). I’ll tone down this passion to take it one step at a time, calmly, logically, yet supernaturally.

It would be more gratifying for me to engage someone who will consider the gospel than to work with someone who professes Christianity but can’t seem to make it recognizable in their version of it. Lukewarm doesn’t cut it (Revelation 3:15-16). Neither does mediocrity. Neither does stretching the boundaries of the Word to make it fit a wayward or uninspired lifestyle (Matthew 12:30).

So, anybody with that description out there?

Father, regardless of what you do, help me to always represent you with passion. I’m not the best, but I can do all things through you who gives me strength. Let me share your wondrous love with someone, Lord. Jesus, you’re worth all our allegiance and devotion. May I honor you each day you give to me. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.
