Into the Fire

Well, yes, it is. Mankind disobeyed God a long time ago in the Garden of Eden as per Satan’s tempting suggestion and guess what? Sin entered the world as we know it and changed everything. E V E R Y T H I N G, people. Everything. One bite of a fruit from a forbidden tree. One tree. Out of all the trees, there was only one that was taboo. One.

One act. One sin. Death once and for all. One hell. One Savior. One Rescuer. One Death. Once for all. One Resurrection. One Redemption. One Salvation. One Heaven.

Take a look at these front page titles from the Seattle Times (02/02/07): “Climate scientists surer than ever: Man’s to blame.” “Health officials warn of new HIV threat. Hard-to-treat strain found in King County; 4 cases, all gay men”.

Forgive me for this, but when I read these blurbs, I laughed. Not an “isn’t that funny” laugh, but a sheer exasperated “give me a break” and “well, duh . . .” kind of laugh.

Yes, this earth will come to an end because of man: it is his fault. Because of sin. Not because he drives an SUV, or puts gasoline in that Hummer, or because he clear cut one too many forests, or had one too many tankers spill its black contents into the oceans, or because he’s made, dropped, and continues to test nuclear bombs. But rather because the wrath of God is coming to earth one day, and all the dubious dumb dastardly deeds that man has done to the earth and to each other cannot match the destruction that God has planned for this planet.

The sheer unadulterated arrogance of man to think he can “fix” the world with his stupid and empty assumptions regarding the control of climate and disease is inane. The pompous idiocy of man to think that he can justify his perversions and cure the disease of his sinfulness with medicine. The cry, “What is this world coming to?” is answered in mysterious symbolism in the book of Revelation, and the answer is disregarded. Even in its mystery, one thing is made clear. God will bring The End. Man is indeed responsible for it, sacrificing perfection for one taste of rebellion. Game over. The rules were generous and succinct. We cheated. And we’ve been paying for it ever since.

So, it is man’s fault that the world as we know it will end, but the so-called, self-proclaimed scientists have no clue as to the whys and hows of the finale. Nor do they want to know. The true scientists have examined the Word and have understood the end. That’s why the evidence they present against such things as man-made “global warming” is rarely given press or credence. The alarmists shriek and cry to the masses to pressure the powers that be to adopt ridiculous measures to curb the destruction of the world when it’s the very sin inside of them that is irrefutably bringing the end down upon them.

Father, the end is coming by your hand and yours alone. Jesus is the answer you gave for all the heartbreak and destruction that sin ushered into mankind and the earth. Why can’t they hear and consider that the one real cure was administered in Love: yours. Endless, everlasting, incomprehensible, abounding love. So sad, Lord, to see it disregarded. I love you, Lord. Help me to be the person you want me to be. May I willingly and unflinchingly share your Love with a lost and dying, doomed to destruction world. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.
