Into the Fire

Passionate thoughts about the world of writing and the Power of God

My God, thank you for being higher, better, deeper, stronger than me.

Jesus, you gave it all for me. Life and death. For me. And every other member of the human race. A brutal death in exchange for an abundant life. Eternal promise. Eventual perfection. The end of tears. Thank you is never enough.

Holy Spirit, thank you for being my comforter and counselor. How you can take up residence in someone such as me is astounding, but I’m so grateful for your presence and instruction, your companionship when all else seems to fail and wind up in chaos. You are ever present, steady, eliciting hope when it all seems lost.

To veterans and soldiers of all ages: thank you for your sacrifice given for me, in war and peace for my freedom.

Thank you, God, for allowing me the privilege and honor of being born and raised in the United States of America.

My parents, even with their human failures, were near perfect. I was so blessed to have them for my Mom and Dad.

My brother, older by several years in my childhood, now not so many. Always there for me. A protector. Thank you.

My husband is the one I love, the one I treasure, the one I want, the one I need. Thank you.

My oldest son, able to forgive me for the early years of his life, a loving son, a man on a journey, loving the Lord, his wife, and our three treasured grandchildren. Thank you.

My youngest son, tender heart, hears from God daily, a prayer warrior and battler in the faith. Thank you.

My daughter-in-law who is just plain lovely, a servant of the Lord, one of those outstanding mothers. Thank you.

Maribeth, the one who cared for my Dad, his wife who shared the last 20 years of his life. No one could have loved him more or done it better. Thank you.

My nieces and nephews-in-law, through all the struggles, we share love. Thank you.

My friends who I love. All shapes, sizes, and ages. Precious. Thank you.

Each one who takes the time to visit this blog. God has made you unique and with purpose, gifted and talented. Thank you for sharing a part of your life with me.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING 2007! *PLEASE PRAY FOR KRISTY DYKES* THANK YOU.
