Into the Fire

Passionate thoughts about the world of writing and the Power of God

Many years ago at Bay Meadows Racetrack, I was walking to or from the barn where I worked and passed Bing Crosby who greeted me with a “Hello” and a smile.

When I was in Europe, there were a few bad things that happened, but outside of my near asphyxiation from a propane leak, they all happened to my friend.

One of my most favorite “offerings” I’ve given to the Lord was a human video done to the song “Mary, Did You Know?” on a Christmas Eve in church with two of my friends several years ago. Acting out the words being spoken (sung) to Mary, portraying an angel (and not a flowing-gowned female angel!), it was beautifully intense.

I went to high school with a girl who could throw a softball as far as any guy in the school—and it was a good-sized high school. Needless to say she was an athlete.

In spite of all the bad television I think it’s a wonderful medium, and it could be used for so much better material. I watch a lot of television in the fall and winter, and I find it somewhat inspiring at times.

Thank you, God, for my life. You have been so gracious to me both before and since I’ve known you. You have blessed me beyond what I know and what I can describe. Thank you for so much. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.
