In the greater Seattle area we get snow maybe once a year and that usually arrives in January. As I told you (and showed you with pictures) we had snow before and during Christmas. Very unusual but pretty. And gone from most places until . . .
Last night we had three more inches of snow. Again. These kinds of snows inevitably mean the main thoroughfare from west to eastern parts (and vice versa) of Washington, Snoqualmie Pass (I-90), gets hammered and consequently closes for avalanche control. My husband travels over this mountain pass weekly so he is stymied by the closures. It becomes a waiting game to determine if he will head east this week. Spokane, Washington, in the northeast portion of our state right near the Idaho border, has had unbelievable snowfalls already this year–so much that they have had to import help to haul snow out of their streets.
Now in the late morning, our snow is nearly gone.
Since a portion of the population now credits colder temperatures to “global warming” in order to justify their hokey theories about normal climate changes, there’s no escaping their arrogant professions. And that’s why if there’s any humor to be found in the weather, it’s in the ridiculous claims by so-called scientists who have accredited these oft occurring conditions in the regular climate systems to a specific crisis in the weather brought about by none other than mankind. For every claim made by Al Gore and the president-elect and others who promote this climate hoax, there are clear scientific documentations to dispute and confound the totally unscientific exclamations of global weather calamity which supposedly will ultimately cause our destruction.
The arrogance is what gets to me. The utter, shameless arrogance that proclaims mankind can control his destiny, the weather, the sustenance of life and of the earth. Mankind who cannot “control” the common cold, cannot cure multiple kinds of cancers, (or even with the millions, probably now billions, of dollars contributed to the cure) of AIDS, when curtailing a certain behavior would eradicate the disease, and cannot control or even often predict so many more afflictions and weather occurrences–that mankind will be able to make this fallen earth a utopia by practicing “green” technologies and going backwards in general living practices, costing us all more money and unnecessary inconvenience in the process. If it wasn’t so sickening, it really might be laughable.
God, I am sorry when we buy into and are held captive “through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ.” The treachery of such arrogant thinking is shameful, and I’m so sorry for it all. Please forgive me whenever I am deceived by the secular viewpoints which point to mankind for all the answers. You are the One who knows all things, who reveals all right answers. You are the One who supplies what we need. You are the Way, the Truth, and the Life, Jesus. And in the Name of Jesus, Amen.
