One of my most hated experiences: going to the doctor. I try (not) to go about once every four or five years. This is my year. Ick.
It amazes me that The Shack is still getting play on various blogs. Hard to believe that little book keeps stirring up trouble. I suppose what fascinates me the most is the discussion about the doctrine or lack thereof in the novel. I read a lot of Christian novels which include certain denominational doctrines with which I disagree as part of the story, written as “fact”, with no uproars whatsoever. I find it somewhat laughable that William Paul Young has presented some controversial (and they are) God-concepts and ignited near fury in some cases.
It’s also interesting to me how the labels “Christian fiction” or “Christian author” can rub people so raw. These topics go round and round on the blogs with the pros and cons, and disagreements abound regarding these terms. I can’t help but wonder why this should be such a problem.
I’ve got a TBR stack taunting me. But the thing is I have this coupon for the Christian bookstore, so of course I have to go tomorrow. See if I can find a good book. Ha!
Short post. Slow brain.
Father, thank you for this day and for all the blessings you’ve included within it. I love you, Lord. Help me to stay rooted in you and able to accomplish your will for me. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.
