Those who cook know the term “simmer”. My dad used to say, “Simmer down” once in awhile when I was a little girl but always gently. I like this word. There are two types of definitions for the word “simmer” in the dictionary which align with cooking and harboring or calming anger or excitement.
When some foods need to continue cooking, they are often simmered until thoroughly done. Well . . . that’s where my writing is right now. Simmering.
I’ve got a good start on book number eight, but it’s been simmering for some time now. I trust the Lord to move me toward the burner to rescue it when the “cooking” time is done.
So. I’ve got an “Examiner” gig going on which is more for fun than it is for “profit”. I think I get a solid penny for each page view. This is your official invitation to visit me there: http://www.examiner.com/x-7385-Seattle-Christian-Fiction-Examiner. The posts there will sometimes overlap with these here, but this blog gets my primary focus.
Later this week at both places I have a two or three part interview with Sibella Giorello, the gifted author of the two mysteries reviewed here: The Stones Cry Out and The Rivers Run Dry. Since Sibella referred to me as an interrogator, you’ll want to tune in for those.
Anyway, I’m in the simmering mode. Always appreciate your prayers.
Father, you place us where we are. We can count on you. You have told us “A righteous man’s steps are ordained by the Lord”, and the Blood of Jesus has made us righteous in your eyes. What a tremendous gift. What a huge comfort. Lead me on, dear Lord. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.
