    OH! Good categories!
Cake, cookies, ice cream, or pie? (And what kind?):
ICE CREAM. Specifically the Dairy Queen Chocolate Extreme Blizzard SPECIFICALLY made by the folks at the DQ on Power Road because THEY actually make it with chocolate ice cream. Folks, it can’t be a chocolate extreme anything if it isn’t made with chocolate ice cream. That’s a no brainer. Not a big fan of cake, except for the occasional piece of just the right carrot cake. Oatmeal raisin cookies (the nice soft kind, not the doorstops).
    Five of your favorite novels?
“Forlorn River” Zane Grey (in a class by itself)
“Nevada” the follow up to Forlorn River
For a novel to be my favorite, I have to be able to actually remember something about it long after reading it. Those are the only 2 which qualify (even among Grey’s novels), though I will say at least the plot line of The Hunger Games has stuck with me, even though I can’t remember actual content like I do with Forlorn River.
Jeans, Cargo pants, Sweats, or Slacks?
Cherokee Workwear Scrub Pants with Five, count ’em FIVE pockets–a lesson every company that makes any kind of pants should take and apply. I assume they are similar to cargo pants, but cheaper.
Tennis shoes/Sneakers, high heels, pumps, boots, or some kind of hiking shoe?
Tennis shoes. Wear them virtually all the time.
Contemporary, Historical, Speculative, Mystery, Thriller? (Name all that apply and add your own variations.)
    Historical
But since I don’t find a lot of historical I like my main reading category tends to be suspense/thriller (whatever you call those jumbled up categories). I read my first novel by JA Jance recently called “Desert Heat” and found myself surprisingly absorbed. When I got to the end I was actually surprised I’d reached the end so soon. That doesn’t happen very often. I do plan to read the follow ups. Caveat to that is–part of the bonus is the book was set in Arizona. 😎

I’ve read one JA Jance novel and thoroughly enjoyed it too. Trivia: she makes her two homes in Arizona and, I believe, Bellevue, Wa.
Thanks for your answers, Brenda. Good points about favorite novels.

Cookies – especially Mrs. Fields milk chocolate!
Five Favorite Novels? Oh boy, that depends upon my mood! And I’ll agree with Brenda that I have to remember details about the book for it to be a fave. I’ll go with
    * Jane Eyre (Charlotte Bronte)
    * Gulliver’s Travels (Jonathan Swift) – best satire ever!
    * The Dead Don’t Dance (Charles Martin) – it’s the book that hooked me on Martin, and is still my favorite of his
    * A Voice in the Wind (Francine Rivers)
    * There’s about 50 tied for 5th, so I’ll just mention Words by Ginny Ytrrup
Jeans, hands down. Rarely wear anything else.
If I have to wear shoes (prefer bare feet), I’ll go with tennis shoes. I love ASICS.
Contemporary family drama is my favorite genre, but I’ll read any genre. That said, I’m also the pickiest when it comes to my fave genre. It’s got to be authentic with no eye-rolling moments.
    And your faves are?

As far as sweets: Love Mrs. Fields milk chocolate chip cookies – in fact, just had one today. However, pie is first (my absolute favorite was my mom’s cherry, but I love so many pies), cakes/cookies tie, and I like certain ice creams once in a while. My guys are big fans of ice cream. Me? Not so much.
Five favorite novels? It’s impossible to list them, I agree. For me, I have to group them by authors. Of all the Vince Flynn novels, Consent to Kill was my favorite. Of Sibella Giorello’s I loved The Mountains Bow Down and The Moon Stands Still and many others. Dogwood and The Promise of Jesse Woods by Chris Fabry, This Present Darkness/Piercing the Darkness by Frank Peretti, Redeeming Love and Bridge to Haven by Francine Rivers, multiple novels by Robert Liparulo. Sorry you asked? ;)Your first series, Bren, was good women’s fiction which you know is not my favorite.
Jeans and sweats although I don’t wear sweats outside of home.
I love all kinds of shoes but mostly wear tennis shoes and boots anymore. Wish I could still wear high heels.
Contemporary thrillers, mysteries, suspense, police procedurals, good love stories which are rare and some good romance which is also rare.
